Biography
I am Antoni Espinosa, aka Mandra, a freelance visual artist from Barcelona, Spain, currently based in Helsinki, Finland.
I have a master's degree in Graphic Arts from the prestigious Escola Joso Comic and Visual Arts Center in Barcelona, Spain.
My Work
I'm heavily influenced by retro and vintage styles, drawing inspiration from old horror and pulp magazines, sci-fi art, as well as old movie posters and vinyl cover art. I'm a lover of films from the silent and classic eras to 80s B-movies and indie productions. My art often reflects my endless fascination with the sea, its wonders and mysteries, its lighthouses, ships and shipwrecks, and I have an almost unhealthy obsession with Herman Melville's Moby Dick.
Currently, I'm focused on creating movie posters, book covers, comics, and 2D animations.
